Privacy
Keepy Uppy uses the camera so you can bop balloons with your body. Nothing the camera sees is recorded or sent anywhere. This page covers what the game does with the camera, and the little it keeps.
- Nothing recordedNo video and no photos, ever.
- Stays on this deviceThe camera is read right here in the browser and never uploaded.
- No accountsNothing to sign up for, and no names or email addresses.

The camera
When you press Turn on the camera, your browser asks to use the camera. Each picture from the camera is read right here on your device to find where each player is: 33 points on each body, like the nose, shoulders, wrists, knees and feet, and a rough outline of each player's body, which is what the balloons bounce off. The game also makes a tiny, blurry copy of each picture, about the size of a postage stamp, and reads the rough colors of each player's clothes from it so two kids who walk past each other don't get mixed up. All of this is held in memory only while you play.
The camera picture is never recorded, saved, uploaded, or sent to us, to Google or to anyone else. There's no face recognition: the game can't tell who anyone is, only where they're standing and how they're moving. When you close the page, the picture and everything the game worked out from it are gone.
The body tracking is MediaPipe, software made by Google that runs inside your browser. When the game starts, the browser downloads it from Google and from jsDelivr, a service that hosts free software, the same way it loads any web page. Nothing from your camera goes along with those downloads.
While the camera is on, your browser shows a camera light or icon. Closing the page turns the camera off.
Saved in your browser
The game keeps its settings and your best scores in this browser's local storage so they're there next time: which camera to use, the volume, balloon size, the level, any parts of the picture you told it to ignore, and the highest number of hits on each level. None of it leaves your device. To clear it, clear this site's data in your browser's settings.
Fonts
The lettering comes from Google Fonts, which sees your internet address when it sends the font files.
Kids
Keepy Uppy is made for kids, ideally with a grown-up nearby and some room to move. There are no accounts, no ads, no chat and nothing to type, and we don't collect personal information from anyone, kids included.
